Background: Some time ago I watched the movie Saawariya, found the story interesting and knew as always, it must have been inspired from someone else. Some wiki-ing later, my hunch was confirmed and the original was a Doestoevsky short story by the name of White Nights. The quote above is where the story begins. I just really like it.
